Almonds- Eat Right

Almonds are a part of daily lifestyle. People consume it as a before breakfast meal. They soak in the water every night, peel the skin in the morning and then eat it.

But did you know, Almonds offered in the market have a lot of colour added to there outer part so that they look uniform. They also add water to those almonds to increase it's volumetric weight. 

If you buy 1 kilogram of almonds from the market and leave them in a dry area, there weight my decrease by 50 grams per kilo. This happens because the added water will evaporate from the kernels.

Almonds which are pure are dry in nature. There will be only 5-6 percent of moisture in them which is natural. If you want to know about good quality of almonds, soak them in water and within 15-20 seconds, remove them from the water they are soaked in. If the colour of the water changes into the colour of almonds, which is light brown or mustard. Then those almonds have added colour to it.

If those almonds soaked have not changed the colour the water, then those almonds are free from added colour and they are healthy to eat.
